It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the subcommittee conduct a study on human rights defenders under attack, particularly journalists and media organizations, and how Canada can support their efforts, that the study focus on human rights in repressive states and that the findings collected are reported to the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development.
It was agreed, — That the members of the subcommittee forward their witness lists for the study of human rights defenders under attack to the clerk no later than February 23.
It was agreed, — That, where possible, the subcommittee invite 3 witnesses per panel, subject to the discretion of the Chair.
It was agreed, — That the clerk and analysts provide the subcommittee background information on the study of the human rights situation in Iran and the study of Women human rights defenders whose work merits recognition.
At 7:45 p.m., the subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
