Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the subcommittee on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, the subcommittee commenced its study on the current situation in Ethiopia.

Yonas Biru and Meaza Gebremedhin made statements.

At 4:50 p.m., pursuant to Standing Order 115(5), it was agreed that the subcommittee continue to sit.

Wosen Yitna Beyene, Semaneh Jemere and Kidane Gebremariam made statements and, with Yonas Biru, Meaza Gebremedhin, Yohannes Berhe and Aserdew Kebbede, answered questions.

At 5:50 p.m., pursuant to Standing Order 115(5), the meeting was suspended.

At 6:05 p.m., the meeting resumed in camera.

At 6:20 p.m., the meeting was suspended.

At 6:27 p.m., the meeting resumed.
