Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the subcommittee on Friday, April 28, 2023, the subcommittee resumed its study of situation of the Hazaras in Afghanistan.

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

At 12:08 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:15 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The subcommittee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to subcommittee business.

It was agreed, — That the subcommittee hold an informal meeting with the United Nations High Commissioner on Human Rights on Monday, October 16, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. (ET); that the subcommittee defray the hospitality expenses related to this meeting, and that these expenses be equally shared with the Subcommittee on International Human Rights and the Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights.

It was agreed, — That the subcommittee hold an informal meeting with the Vice-Chairperson of the United Nations Working Group on Business and Human Rights on Tuesday, October 24, 2023; and that the subcommittee defray the hospitality expenses related to this meeting.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the subcommittee undertake a study of the unlawful transfer of children from Ukraine to Russia; that the subcommittee hold two meetings on this issue; and that members submit their lists of requested witnesses to the clerk no later than 12:00 p.m. on Monday, October 23, 2023.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the subcommittee undertake a study of international disability-inclusive education, including intellectual and developmental disabilities; that the subcommittee hold four meetings on this issue; and that members submit their lists of requested witnesses to the clerk no later than Friday, October 27, 2023.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the subcommittee undertake a study of the global rise of gender apartheid; and that the subcommittee hold at least one meeting on this issue.

At 1:02 p.m., the subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
