It was agreed, — That, notwithstanding the motion agreed on December 4, 2018, in relation to the study on Atlantic Canada commercial vessel length and licensing policies and to the government response to the report, the Minister of Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard be invited to appear on Monday, January 28, 2019, or at the earliest opportunity rather than the officials.

It was agreed, — That the Committee undertake a study, of at least three meetings, on the adequacy of enforcement and penalties for infractions of the Fisheries Act and relevant regulations, and that this be reported to the House.

It was agreed, — That the Committee undertake a study, of at least four meetings, on the migration of lobster and snow crab, and the health of their stocks in Atlantic Canada, including the impact a change to carapace size may have on the market place and its potential effect on employment levels in lobster processing facilities, and that this be reported to the House.

It was agreed, — That the Committee undertake a study of at least two meetings to study the market impact of wide-spread mis-labeling of seafood to fishers and consumers in Canada, and that the chair shall be empowered to coordinate the necessary witnesses and schedule, and that the Committee report its findings to the House.

It was agreed, — That the Committee conduct a study of issues related to the management of Interior Fraser Steelhead including bycatch; that the Committee report its findings to the House and; and that senior officials from the Department of Fisheries and Oceans be asked to brief the Committee on the current status of Interior Fraser Steelhead prior to commencing the study.

It was agreed, — That the proposed calendar be adopted.
