Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(f) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, January 31, 2017, the Committee resumed its study of the issues related to the enumeration of rights-holders under section 23 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

Yvan Déry and Johanne Denis made statements and, with Jean-Pierre Corbeil, answered questions.

At 4:30 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:35 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(f) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, February 23, 2017, the Committee resumed its study of Air Canada’s implementation of the Official Languages Act.

Pierre Foucher made a statement and answered questions.

At 5:15 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:18 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That the Committee ask Statistics Canada to provide it with the draft questions designed to enumerate rights-holders under paragraphs 23(1)(a) and (b) and subsection 23(2) of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms that will be tested for inclusion in the 2021 Census by March 31, 2018; and that the Committee review these drafts and all related documents in camera.

At 5:22 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
