Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Friday, October 7, 2022, the committee resumed its study of the government's response to the final report of the Special Committee on Afghanistan.

The committee resumed consideration of a draft letter.

At 5:08 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:29 p.m., the sitting resumed.

It was agreed, — That the committee pause consideration of the draft letter following its study of the Government's Response to the Final Report of the Special Committee on Afghanistan, until the committee receive the documents requested to Global Affairs Canada in the motion of May 5, 2024, and taking into consideration the review to be made by the Law Clerk and Parliamentary Counsel.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, the committee resumed its study of closed work permits and temporary foreign workers.

The committee commenced consideration of a draft report.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That the committee begin on Monday, June 3, 2024 its study of Pension transferability and access to Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF), and delays in permanent residence and visas for Hong Kongers, pursuant to the motions adopted on February 12 and May 1st, 2024; witnesses list be sent to the clerk on May 30 at the latest; that the clerk invite witnesses for June 3, 2024; and the clerk invite officials to appear for two hours.

At 5:55 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
