Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, the committee commenced its study of the subject matter of the Supplementary Estimates (B), 2023-24: Votes 1b, 5b and 10b under Department of Citizenship and Immigration.

The Minister made a statement and, with Christiane Fox and Nathalie Manseau, answered questions.

At 4:50 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:59 p.m., the sitting resumed.

The committee resumed consideration of the motion moved on Thursday, November 23, 2023, which read as follows:

That the committee issue a letter to the Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship to urgently call on the Government of Canada to lift the 40,000 quota for the Special Immigration Measure for Afghans so that those who risked their lives and that of their family members, including extended family members, to serve Canada are afforded the opportunity to get to safety in Canada; and, further, that the committee issue a news release on the matter.

At 5:27 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:28 p.m., the sitting resumed.

The debate continued.

Brad Redekopp moved, — That the committee do now adjourn.

The question was put on the motion and it was agreed to on the following recorded division:
