Vice-Admiral Ron Lloyd made a statement and, with Commodore C.P. Donovan and Chief Petty Officer 1st Class Michel Vigneault, answered questions.
The Committee resumed consideration of the motion of Cheryl Gallant, — That the Committee accept all recommendations in the two reports of the National Defence and Canadian Forces Ombudsman tabled in September 2016; that the Government implement all of these recommendations as the best way forward to support Canadian Armed Forces members and veterans, particularly those in transition; and that the Government respond to the Committee on this motion.
Sherry Romanado moved, — That the motion be amended by replacing the words “accept all” with the words “acknowledge the”, by replacing the words “implement all of these recommendations as” with the words “continue to work with the Ombudsman to build upon this foundation to find”, and by deleting the words “and that the Government respond to the Committee on this motion”.
At 12:52 p.m., the sitting was suspended.
At 12:53 p.m., the sitting resumed.
By unanimous consent, the amendment was withdrawn.
