Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Monday, January 29, 2024, the committee resumed its study of the experience of Indigenous Veterans and Black Veterans.

At 11:11 a.m., pursuant to Standing Order 115(5), it was agreed that the committee continue to sit.

MaryAnn Notarianni, Gabrielle Dupuis, Yvan Guy Larocque, William Shead and Maria Antonia Trujillo made statements and answered questions.

Motion

Fraser Tolmie moved, — That the Minister of Veterans Affairs, appear before the committee for no fewer than 2 hours to consider the Supplementary Estimates (B) 2024-2025, for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2025, on or before Thursday December 12, 2024.

Amendment

On motion of Bryan May, it was agreed, — That the motion be amended by replacing the words “no fewer than 2 hours” with the words “at least one hour”.

After debate, the question was put on the motion, as amended, and it was agreed to.

The motion, as amended, read as follows:

That the Minister of Veterans Affairs, appear before the committee for at least one hour to consider the Supplementary Estimates (B) 2024-2025, for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2025, on or before Thursday, December 12, 2024.

At 11:31 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
