Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Monday, April 17, 2023, the committee resumed its study of animal biosecurity preparedness.

The committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That the proposed supplementary budget in the amount of $11,000, for the study of environmental contribution of agriculture, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the review of the confidential documents from the grocery chains be extended until Friday, December 1, 2023, by appointment.

It was agreed, — That the appearances by the Chief Executive Officers of the five major grocery chains be held in public, for one hour each, individually, and that only the Chief Executive Officers appear as witnesses before the committee to represent each grocery chain.

It was agreed, — That the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food be invited back to appear before the committee as part of the study of efforts to stabilize food prices.

At 5:01 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
