Dave Carey, Gayle McLaughlin, Tyler Fulton, Gregory Kolz, Émilie Bergeron and Massimo Bergamini, made statements and, with Jennifer Babcock, answered questions.
By unanimous consent, it was agreed, — That the letter to the Chair of the Standing Senate Committee on Banking, Commerce and the Economy, urging the committee to promptly complete the consideration of Bill C-280, An Act to amend the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act and the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act (deemed trust – perishable fruits and vegetables) be sent be sent; and that all senators be copied on the correspondence.
It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $36,000, for the study of Intergenerational Transfer of Farms and New Entrants, be adopted.
It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $14,900, for the study of Priorities of the Agriculture Sector, be adopted.
Questioning of the witnesses resumed.

Tim Louis gave notice of the following motion:
That, given Spotted Lanternflies have been detected in Windsor, Ontario, posing a direct threat on agriculture, the committee invite officials to appear and brief the committee on testing, surveillance efforts, and threat mitigation steps being taken to protect Canada’s agriculture sector in the Southwest; that one in-camera meeting be set aside for this study

The question: "That the letter to the Chair of the Standing Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade, urging the committee to continue and promptly complete the study of Bill C-282, An Act to amend the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Act be sent; and that all senators be copied on the correspondence" was put and was agreed to on the following recorded division:
