Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Thursday, February 8, 2024, the committee resumed the review of the Fisheries Act.

Rick Perkins gave notice of the following motion:

That the committee ask the Speaker of the House to investigate the potential breach of privilege by the Minister of Fisheries and Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard for providing misleading information during her appearance before the committee on Wednesday, December 4, 2024; and, that the committee report this issue to the House.

Scott Jackson, Kate Lindsay, Darren Porter and Larry Thomas made statements and answered questions.

At 5:31 p.m., the meeting was suspended.

At 5:34 p.m., the meeting resumed.

Alberto Wareham, Carl Allen and Dwan Street made statements and answered questions.

At 6:34 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
