The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That the proposed supplementary budget in the amount of $10,000, for the study of the ecosystem impacts and the management of pinniped populations, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the proposed supplementary budget in the amount of $26,000, for the study of foreign ownership and corporate concentration of fishing licenses and quota, be adopted.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Monday, May 1, 2023, the committee commenced its study of the allocation of resources to the Great Lakes Fishery Commission.

Debbie Dingell, Ethan Baker and Niall O’Dea made statements and, with Gregory McClinchey, Robert Lambe and Richard Goodyear, answered questions.

At 5:42 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
