Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Thursday, January 20, 2022, the committee commenced its study of the North Atlantic right whale.

Adam Burns made a statement and, with Brett Gilchrist, answered questions.

At 5:02 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:07 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

Marine Cargo Container Spills
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Thursday, January 20, 2022, the committee resumed its study of marine cargo container spills.

The committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled "Marine Cargo Container Spills".

It was agreed, — That the Chair, clerk and analysts be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the committee request that the government table a comprehensive response to the report.

It was agreed, — That dissenting or supplementary opinions be in Calibri 12-point font, left aligned, single-spaced, and be submitted electronically, in both official languages, to the clerk of the committee not later than 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 29, 2022.

ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

Committee Business
The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $25,500, for the study of the North Atlantic right whale, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That, for the study of science at the Department of Fisheries and Oceans, the deadline for the submission of briefs be 11:59 p.m. on Monday, October 3, 2022.

At 5:13 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:21 p.m., the sitting resumed.

At 5:30 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
