Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, the committee resumed its study of derelict and abandoned vessels.

Lenora Joe, Gordon Edwards and Paul Macedo made statements and answered questions.

At 5:32 p.m., the meeting was suspended.

At 5:35 p.m., the meeting resumed.

John White and Ken Watts made statements and answered questions.

Lisa Marie Barron gave notice of the following motion:

That, given that the House of Commons Administration serves only farmed salmon in its food and catering services, and that open net pen fish farms pollute our waters and spread diseases in the surrounding marine ecosystem, and that the government has committed to a transition away from open net pen salmon farms, the committee write a letter to the Speaker of the House of Commons calling for the House of Commons Administration to end the practice of purchasing farmed salmon from open net pen salmon farms.

Questioning of the witnesses resumed.

At 6:31 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
