Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Thursday, February 8, 2024, the committee resumed the review of the Fisheries Act.

Richard Williams, Lyne Morissette and Susanna Fuller made statements and answered questions.

At 12:04 p.m., the meeting resumed.

Claudio Bernatchez and Ian McPherson made statements and, with Robert Jenkins, answered questions.

At 12:59 p.m., the meeting was suspended.

At 1:06 p.m., the meeting resumed in camera.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Monday, September 16, 2024, the committee resumed its study of the impact of the reopening of the cod fishery in Newfoundland and Labrador and Quebec.

The committee proceeded to give drafting instructions to the analysts for a draft report.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of the impact of the reopening of the cod fishery in Newfoundland and Labrador and Quebec, the deadline for the submission of briefs, supplementary instructions and recommendations be Friday, December 6, 2024, 5:00 p.m.

At 1:14 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
