Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Thursday, September 21, 2023, the committee resumed its study of women's economic empowerment.

The committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

At 5:12 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:15 p.m., the sitting resumed.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $38,750, for the study on coercive behaviour, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study on coercive behaviour, the committee offer mental health supports to the witnesses, and that the clerk be authorized to make the necessary arrangements, if requested.

It was agreed, — That in the context of the study on coercive behaviour, the deadline for the submission of briefs be no later than 4:00 p.m., on Sunday, June 30, 2024, and that briefs not exceed two pages (approximately 1,000 words).

ORDERED, — That, for the study on coercive behaviour, the clerk and analysts of the committee, in consultation with the Chair, prepare a news release for publication on the committee’s website, at the start of the study, and upon presentation of the report to the House.

ORDERED, — That the clerk and analysts of the committee, in consultation with the Chair, prepare a news release for publication on the committee’s website and for distribution to commemorate Red Dress Day.

At 5:24 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
