Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Thursday, September 21, 2023, the committee commenced its study of women's economic empowerment.

Clare Barnett, Cadleen Désir and Meseret Haileyesus made statements and answered questions.

Michelle Ferreri gave notice of the following motion:

The committee immediately undertake a five meeting review on the disproportionate impact the carbon tax has on low income individuals.

At 4:51 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:01 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $35,950, for the study of women’s economic empowerment, be adopted.

At 5:08 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
