Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, the committee resumed its study of resource development and violence against Indigenous women and girls.

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

At 4:57 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:01 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That the evidence heard by the committee as part of its study on intimate partner and domestic violence in Canada be taken into consideration by the committee as part of its study of Bill C-233, An Act to amend the Criminal Code and the Judges Act (violence against an intimate partner).

It was agreed, — That Anju Dhillon be invited to appear for one hour on Friday, May 6, 2022, as part of the study of Bill C-233, An Act to amend the Criminal Code and the Judges Act (violence against an intimate partner).

It was agreed, — That officials from the Department of Justice be invited to appear for one hour on Friday, May 6, 2022, as part of the study of Bill C-233, An Act to amend the Criminal Code and the Judges Act (violence against an intimate partner).

It was agreed, — That the committee commence clause-by-clause consideration of Bill C-233, An Act to amend the Criminal Code and the Judges Act (violence against an intimate partner) on Friday, May 13, 2022, and that the dealdline fot the submission of amendments to the clerk of the committee be no longer than Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at noon (ET).

It was agreed, — That the deadline for submitting briefs as part of the study of Bill C-233, An Act to amend the Criminal Code and the Judges Act (violence against an intimate partner) be Wednesday, May 4, at 4 p.m. (ET).

At 5:29 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
