Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, the committee resumed its study of mental health of young women and girls.

Garnett Genuis gave notice of the following motion:

That the committee report to the House that in its opinion the government should:

(a) support the development of bystander awareness and intervention training, in collaboration with other levels of government, academia, and civil society organizations, as a key tool for combatting sexual harassment and violence, hate crimes, and other forms of criminal activity;

(b) support the provision of bystander awareness and intervention training to federal workers; and

(c) encourage all Canadians to avail themselves of opportunities to take bystander awareness and intervention training.

Debbie Owusu-Akyeeah, Brittany McMillan, Véronique Couture, Stuart Shanker and Melanie Omeniho made statements and, with Jaime Sadgrove, answered questions.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That the clerk of the committee make the necessary arrangements for an informal luncheon with the delegation of the National Assembly of Armenia.

At 5:25 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
