The witnesses made statements and answered questions.
It was agreed, — That the Fifth Report from the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure, which read as follows, be concurred in:
Your subcommittee met on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, to consider the business of the committee and agreed to make the following recommendations:
- That, in relation to the committee’s study of the review of the impact of Canada’s procurement process on the Canadian Armed Forces, an additional two meetings be held, and supplementary witness lists be submitted to the clerk of the committee no later than Monday, October 23, 2023.
- That, in relation to the committee’s study of rising domestic operational deployments and challenges for the Canadian Armed Forces, an additional two meetings be held, the Minister of National Defence and the Minister of Emergency Preparedness be invited to appear, and that supplementary witness lists be submitted to the clerk of the committee no later than Wednesday, October 25, 2023.
- That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the committee undertake a study on the lack of housing availability on or near bases for Canadian Armed Forces members and their families and the challenges facing members and their families when they are required to move across the country; that the committee shall hold a minimum of four meetings for the duration of the study; and that the committee report its findings and recommendations to the House.
