Martin Bureau, Anna Warwick Sears and Nadine Stiller made statements and answered questions.
At 4:34 p.m., the sitting was suspended.
At 4:36 p.m., the sitting resumed.
Roy Brouwer, Frédéric Lasserre and Haidy Tadros made statements and, with Melissa Fabian Mendoza, answered questions.
Branden Leslie moved, — Given that,
- On April 1st, the Liberal Government increased the consumer carbon tax by 23%;
- 70% of Canadians and 70% of Provincial Premiers are opposed to the latest carbon tax increase; and
- The NDP Premier of Manitoba recently came up against the carbon tax and plans to put forward a proposal to exempt the province from the carbon tax.
The committee report to the House its recommendation that the Liberal Government abolish the consumer carbon levy, more commonly referred to as the carbon tax.
Debate arose thereon.
Adam van Koeverden moved, — That the debate be now adjourned.
The question was put on the motion and it was agreed to on the following recorded division:
