By unanimous consent, it was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of the Competition Act and air travel in northern, rural, and remote communities of Canada, the proposed budget in the amount of $211,977.90, amended to the amount of $199,597.96, for the committee’s travel to Whitehorse, Yukon, Fredericton, New Brunswick, Mont-joli, Québec, Kuujjuaq, Québec, Québec, Québec and Smithers, British Columbia, instead of Prince Rupert, British Columbia, in Spring - Summer 2024, be adopted and presented to the Subcommittee on Committee Budgets of the Liaison Committee.
At 11:08 a.m., pursuant to Standing Order 115(5), it was agreed that the committee continue to sit.
Pierre-Olivier Pineau, Robert Eaton and Stéphanie Lacoste made statements and answered questions.
At 11:21 a.m., pursuant to Standing Order 115(5), the sitting was suspended.
At 11:55 a.m., the sitting resumed.
Mark Strahl moved, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), given that Lynx Air has filed for court protection from creditors staying that “the compounding financial pressures associated with inflation, fuel costs, exchange rates, cost of capital, regulatory costs and competitive tension in the Canadian market have ultimately proven too steep a mountain for our organization to overcome”, the committee invite the Minister of Transport, the Commissioner of Competition, the National Airlines Council of Canada and other witnesses the committee deems relevant, to discuss the state of airline competition in Canada, and that the committee report its findings to the House.
Angelo Iacono moved, — That the debate be now adjourned.
By unanimous consent, the question was put on the motion and it was agreed to.

By unanimous consent, it was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of projects of high frequency rail between Quebec City and Toronto, between Calgary and Banff, and between Calgary and Edmonton, members submit written questions to witnesses through the clerk, and that the clerk be instructed to distribute written responses to the committee upon receipt.
