Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the committee commenced a briefing on the current situation in Lebanon.

Alexandre Lévêque made a statement and, with Sébastien Beaulieu and Teresa Crockett, answered questions.

At 4:37 p.m., the meeting was suspended.

At 4:47 p.m., the meeting resumed in camera.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Monday, January 29, 2024, the committee resumed its study of Canada’s approach to Africa.

The committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "A New Era of Partnerships: Canada’s Engagement with Africa".

It was agreed, — That the Chair, clerk and analysts be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the committee request that the government table a comprehensive response to the report.

ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

It was agreed, — That the analysts and the clerk, in consultation with the Chair, prepare a news release for publication on the committee’s website and for distribution upon presentation of the report to the House.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Thursday, February 16, 2023, the committee resumed its study of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps and current situation in Iran.

The committee proceeded to give drafting instructions to the analyst[s] for a draft report.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That in relation to the study of Canada's relations with Latin America and the Caribbean, the committee members submit their prioritized witness lists, with the witnesses’ complete contact information, to the clerk of the committee no later than Friday, November 15, 2024.

It was agreed, — That the committee rescind its invitation to the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967 for its study of Canada's advancement of a two-state solution and invite her to provide a written submission.

At 5:33 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
