Heather McPherson moved, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Foreign Affairs and International Development Committee undertake a study to examine the government’s decision to circumvent Canadian sanctions to allow the export of Gazprom turbines; that this study consist of no fewer than five meetings; that the Minister of Natural Resources and Minister of Foreign Affairs appear before the committee, along with officials from their respective departments, no later than July 22nd , 2022; that representatives from the Ukrainian Canadian Congress and the Ambassador of Ukraine to Canada be invited to appear before the committee; and that committee members submit lists of additional witnesses by July 19th , 2022.

Robert Oliphant moved, — That the motion be amended by deleting the words “that this study consist of no fewer than five meetings”.

Stéphane Bergeron moved, — That the amendment be amended by replacing the words “that this study consist of no fewer than five meetings” with the following “that the committee determine the number of meetings required to carry out this study”.
