Garnett Genuis gave notice of the following motion:
That given disturbing revelations about corruption and multiple instances of sexual abuse at the World Health Organization (WHO) and pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the committee conduct a study regarding corruption and abuse at the WHO and invite senior WHO leadership, including the director general, and also Dr. Akjemal Magtymova from the WHO Syrian office and Canada's Minister of International Development to provide testimony as part of this study.
Questioning of the witnesses resumed.
Garnett Genuis moved, — That the committee report to the House that it calls on the Government of Canada to fix the barriers that are preventing vital humanitarian aid from getting into Afghanistan, and ask the government to provide the committee with regular written updates on its progress and intended timelines.
Debate arose thereon.
Sameer Zuberi moved, — That the motion be amended by deleting the following: “, and ask the government to provide the committee with regular written updates on its progress and intended timelines”.
