Pursuant to Standing Order 83.1, and the motion adopted by the committee on Thursday, September 26, 2024, the committee resumed its pre-budget consultations in advance of the 2025 Budget.

Simon Claus, Eve Paré, Sheila Regehr, Sidney Frankel, Yvan Duceppe, Patricia Tessier and Benjamin Bergen made statements and, with François Bélanger and Nicholas Schiavo, answered questions.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

Motion

Don Davies moved, — That pursuant to Standing Order 97.1, the committee request a 30 sitting day extension for bill C-365, An Act respecting the implementation of a consumer-led banking system for Canadians.

Debate arose thereon.
