Pursuant to Standing Order 83.1, and the motion adopted by the committee on Thursday, September 26, 2024, the committee resumed its pre-budget consultations in advance of the 2025 Budget.

Ian Lee, James Janeiro, Kelly Paleczny, Martin Roy, Andre Harpe and Andrew Van Iterson made statements and, with Kyle Larkin, Jessica McIlroy, Will Bulmer and Sarah Palmer, answered questions.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

Adam Chambers gave notice of the following motion:

That the committee dedicate any extra resources on the evening of Tuesday, October 8, 2024, to the study of bill C-365 to a maximum meeting one hour and report the bill to the House in its original or amended form, as the committee desires.

Questioning of the witnesses resumed.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $11,250, for the study of changes to capital gains and corresponding measures announced in Budget 2024, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $38,500, for the study of pre-budget consultations in advance of the 2025 Budget, be adopted.

At 5:40 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
