Pursuant to the order of reference of Friday, June 16, 2023, the committee commenced consideration of Bill C-51, An Act to give effect to the self-government treaty recognizing the Whitecap Dakota Nation / Wapaha Ska Dakota Oyate and to make consequential amendments to other Acts.

At 4:25 p.m., pursuant to Standing Order 115(5), it was agreed that the committee continue to sit.

Frank Royal, Dwayne Eagle, Murray Long and the Minister made statements and, with Maxime Faille, answered questions.

At 4:53 p.m., pursuant to Standing Order 115(5), the sitting was suspended.

At 5:07 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Questioning of the witnesses resumed.

At 5:47 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
