Pursuant to the order of reference of Wednesday, June 21, 2023, the committee commenced consideration of Bill C-53, An Act respecting the recognition of certain Métis governments in Alberta, Ontario and Saskatchewan, to give effect to treaties with those governments and to make consequential amendments to other Acts.

Andrea Sandmaier, Margaret Froh and Michelle LeClair made statements and, with Mitchell Case, answered questions.

Committee Business
The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That the committee commence clause-by-clause consideration of Bill C-53 on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in accordance with the routine motions.

At 5:37 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
