Pursuant to the order of reference of Wednesday, June 21, 2023, the committee resumed consideration of Bill C-53, An Act respecting the recognition of certain Métis governments in Alberta, Ontario and Saskatchewan, to give effect to treaties with those governments and to make consequential amendments to other Acts.

Cassidy Caron made a statement and answered questions.

At 4:37 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:41 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Dean Gladue made a statement and answered questions.

At 4:48 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:50 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Joel Abram made a statement and, with Dean Gladue, answered questions.

At 5:27 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:31 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That the committee not call additional witnesses to appear on Bill C-53.

At 5:49 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
