On motion of Mario Simard, it was agreed, — That the committee ask the Parliamentary Budget Officer to provide an update on his 2022 cost analysis of the Trans Mountain Pipeline prior to his appearance before the committee in September.
May Wong, Catherine Hickson, Dan Balaban, Paul West-Sells made statements and, with Daniel Jurijew, answered questions.
Jeremy Patzer gave notice of the following motion:
Given that,- The Liberal Government released its internal economic data on the carbon tax, revealing it costs Canadians $30.5 billion and over $1800 for every household in Canada;
- This is in addition to the increased costs the carbon tax puts on gas, groceries, and home heating, and;
- The Liberal Government tried to cover-up this information from Canadians;
- When the Parliamentary Budget Officer revealed that the Liberal Government had this data, they placed him under a gag order and attempted to disparage his reputation.
Questioning of the witnesses resumed.
At 5:28 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
