Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, the committee commenced its study of free trade negotiations between Canada and Ecuador.

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $15,150, for the study of free trade negotiations between Canada and Ecuador, be adopted.

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

At 4:57 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:02 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, the committee resumed its study of the 2023 strike at the Port of Vancouver: selected impacts, responses and port-related innovation.

The committee commenced consideration of a draft report.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of Canadian businesses in supply chains and global markets, the proposed budget in the amount of $152,161.73, for the committee’s travel to Prince Rupert, British Columbia; Winnipeg, Manitoba; Windsor, Ontario; Montréal, Quebec; and Halifax, Nova Scotia in the spring of 2024, be adopted; and that the clerk be authorized to purchase appropriate gifts and make the necessary arrangements for meals and a reception during the committee's travel.

At 5:25 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
