It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $12,500, for the study of Protecting Certain Canadian Manufacturing Sectors Against Related Chinese Imports and Measures, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That given that the full and equal participation of women in the Canadian economy is essential to our ongoing prosperity and competitiveness, that female entrepreneurs face unique barriers as they move along the business cycle, including in exporting and accessing new markets, and that women own fewer than 16% of Canadian businesses and are underrepresented in our trade economy, the Committee undertake a study of no fewer than 3 meetings to analyze how the Women Entrepreneurship Fund and other federal, provincial, and private-sector initiatives are assisting women-owned and -led businesses across Canada to grow and reach new markets, and examine what other measures could be adopted to support them.

It was agreed, — That as part of the committee’s study on the CBSA Assessment and Revenue Management System (CARM), the committee dedicate one meeting before October 1, 2024 to receive an update from CBSA officials and representatives from Deloitte in the first hour, and a panel of key industry stakeholders in the second hour, about the state of collaboration between government and industry on this important matter, the CBSA's progress developing CARM since the committee chair tabled the CARM interim report in Parliament on April 29, 2024, and overall CARM readiness before the October 4, 2024 blackout period commences ahead of its anticipated implementation on October 21, 2024.
