Minutes of Proceedings
Paxton Bach, Bonnie Henry, Mylène Drouin and Earl Thiessen made statements and, with Carole Morissette, answered questions.
It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 81(5), the committee invite the Minister of Health and the Minister of Mental Health and Addictions to appear for no less than one hour each regarding the Supplementary Estimates (A), 2024-25; and that this meeting take place as soon as possible, but no later than June 20, 2024.
Questioning of the witnesses resumed.
Sonia Sidhu moved, — That Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the committee undertake a study of no less than six hours on the negative effects climate change and pollution have on the health of Canadians and Indigenous communities, including the cost to the healthcare infrastructure, resources and impact on vulnerable communities and populations; that the committee report its findings and recommendations to the House; and that, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Government table a comprehensive response to the report.
Debate arose thereon.
At 12:58 p.m., the sitting was suspended.
At 1:08 p.m., the sitting resumed.
Stephen Ellis moved, — That the debate be now adjourned.
