Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the committee resumed its study of over-the-counter paediatric medication.

Stephen Lucas made a statement and, with Stefania Trombetti, Supriya Sharma and Linsey Hollett, answered questions.

At 11:59 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:05 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Hugues Mousseau, Emily Gruenwoldt, Saad Ahmed and Gerry Harrington made statements and answered questions.

Motion

Stephen Ellis moved, — That for the next twelve months Health Canada table with the committee on a weekly basis the number of infant and children’s acetaminophen and ibuprofen doses that arrived in Canada that week, the number of doses anticipated to arrive the following week; and, that this information be provided in both official languages, and the clerk post this information on the committee’s website immediately.

Debate arose thereon.

Adam van Koeverden moved, — That the debate be now adjourned.

The question was put on the motion and it was agreed to, by a show of hands: YEAS: 7; NAYS: 4.

Questioning of the witnesses resumed.

Stephen Ellis moved, — That the committee resume consideration of the motion moved earlier today, which read as follows:

That for the next twelve months Health Canada table with the committee on a weekly basis the number of infant and children’s acetaminophen and ibuprofen doses that arrived in Canada that week, the number of doses anticipated to arrive the following week; and, that this information be provided in both official languages, and the clerk post this information on the committee’s website immediately.

The question was put on the motion and it was agreed to, by a show of hands: YEAS: 6; NAYS: 5.
