The witness answered questions.
Rick Perkins moved, — That, in relation to the current study of the recent investigation and reports on Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC), one additional meeting be added to hear testimony from the Conflict of Interest and Ethics Commissioner and from the SDTC ethics advisor referred to during the testimony received, and to hear testimony from Andrew Noseworthy, Assistant Deputy Minister and from Simon Kennedy, Deputy Minister, for a second time.
Debate arose thereon.
Sébastien Lemire moved, — That the motion be amended by replacing the words “one additional meeting be added to hear testimony from the Conflict of Interest and Ethics Commissioner and from the SDTC ethics advisor referred to during the testimony received, and to hear testimony from Andrew Noseworthy, Assistant Deputy Minister and from Simon Kennedy, Deputy Minister, for a second time” with the words “the committee request that the Conflict of Interest and Ethics Commissioner provide the committee with a written statement on the breaches in testimony and his observations”.

Rick Perkins moved, — Whereas the company Shenghe Resources which is 14% owned by Beijing is attempting to acquire significant holdings in Vital Metals, a Canadian owned rare earths mine, the committee call that the Minister of Industry to invoke a national security review under the Investment Canada Act over Beijing’s takeover of Vital Metals.
