Minutes of Proceedings
It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $8 000.00, for the study of examination of telecommunication companies service contract practices, be adopted.
Mark Graham and Tony Staffieri made statements, and with Bret Leech, answered questions.
Michelle Rempel Garner moved, — That the committee report to the House its disappointment in Rogers Communications Inc. for not proactively disclosing the true costs of their products and services to consumers, and notes the detrimental impact of the lack of competition in the telecommunications sector is having on Canadian consumers.
Ryan Turnbull moved, — That the motion be amended by replacing the words “report to the House” with the word “express”.
The question was put on the amendment of Ryan Turnbull and it was negatived on the following recorded division:
