The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That the clerk of the committee be authorized to grant access to the committee's digital binder to the offices of the whips of each recognized party.

It was agreed, — That the committee’s study of Hockey Canada’s involvement in alleged sexual assaults committed in 2018 be expanded to include all matters related to the administration of Hockey Canada and other national sporting federations; and that the title of the study be amended to “Safe Sport in Canada”.

It was agreed, — That the Minister of Housing and Diversity and Inclusion be invited to appear before the committee on Friday, October 7, 2022.

It was agreed, — That the committee meet on the topic of Bill C-18, An Act respecting online communications platforms that make news content available to persons in Canada, on Friday, September 23, 2022, and Tuesday, September 27, 2022; that the committee meet on the topic of Safe Sport in Canada, on Tuesday, October 4, 2022; and that the committee meet on the topic of the Department of Canadian’s Heritage’s contract with the Community Media Advocacy Centre on Friday, October 7, 2022.

ORDERED, — That the clerk of the committee contact AIG Insurance Company of Canada to determine whether their policies are available in French and English.

ORDERED, — That the committee summon Andrea Skinner, Chair of the Board of Hockey Canada, and Michael Brind’Amour, former Chair of the Board of Hockey Canada to appear before the committee on Tuesday October 4, 2022; that the committee send for a copy the draft minutes from 2022, and any notes taken during the in camera sessions by board members or staff of Hockey Canada related to the 2018 incident in London, Ontario, and any settlement of that matter; and that Bob Nicholson be summoned, and AIG Insurance Company of Canada officials be invited to appear for two hours to the committee’s the next meeting on the study of safe sport in Canada.

ORDERED, — That the clerk inform the committee when the minutes for Tuesday, September 20, 2022, are published on the committee Website.

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $ 1, 450, for the briefing to discuss the Department of Canadian Heritage’s contract with the Community Media Advocacy Centre, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $24, 850 for the consideration of Bill C-18, An Act respecting online communications platforms that make news content available to persons in Canada, be adopted.

At 1:00 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
