Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), and the motions adopted by the committee on Monday, June 13, 2022, and Tuesday, September 20, 2022, the committee resumed its study of safe sport in Canada.

Kate Bahen, Debra Gassewitz and Lorraine Lafrenière made statements and answered questions.

At 12:04 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:13 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

Michel Bédard made a statement and answered questions.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the committee’s study on safe sport, that former Soccer Canada president, Steven Reed, be invited to appear before the committee for two hours, to provide a better understanding of the relationship between Canadian Soccer Association and Canada Soccer Business.

It was agreed, — In view of the recent announcement by the federal government to reinstate federal funding to Hockey Canada, through Sport Canada, that the Minister of Sport, the Hon. Pascale St-Onge be invited to the Canadian Heritage committee for not less than one hour before May 17 of 2023.

At 12:54 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
