Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Monday, February 14, 2022, the committee resumed its study of harms caused to children, women, and men by the ease of access to, and online viewing of, illegal sexually explicit material.

Vivek Krishnamurthy, Emily Laidlaw and Carol Todd made statements.

It was agreed, — That Carol Todd be granted two additional minutes to conclude her opening statement.

At 5:20, pursuant to Standing Order 115(5), it was agreed that the committee continue to sit.

Dianne Lalonde, Jocelyn Monsma Selby and Marc-Antoine Vachon made statements.

At 5:42 p.m., pursuant to Standing Order 115(5), the sitting was suspended.

At 6:03 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Motion

Rachael Thomas moved, — That the committee continue to sit until 7 p.m.

The question was put on the motion and it was agreed to on the following recorded division:

YEAS: Niki Ashton, Martin Champoux, Jacques Gourde, Philip Lawrence, Rachael Thomas, Kevin Waugh — 6;

NAYS: Michael Coteau, Anju Dhillon, Anna Gainey, Patricia Lattanzio, Taleeb Noormohamed — 5.

Vivek Krishnamurthy, Carol Todd, Dianne Lalonde, Jocelyn Monsma Selby and Marc-Antoine Vachon answered questions.

On motion of Michael Coteau, it was agreed, — That the committee do now adjourn.

At 6:56 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
