Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, the committee resumed its study of the protection of freedom of expression.

Michelle Shepard, Carol Off, Mitzie Hunter, Dania Majid, Didi Dufresne, Bruce Pardy, Solange Lefebvre, Maryse Potvin and Jean-François Gaudreault-DesBiens made statements and answered questions.

At 4:40 p.m., the meeting was suspended.

At 4:42 p.m., the meeting resumed.

Questioning of the witnesses resumed.

It was agreed, — That the proposed supplementary budget in the amount of $21,066.40, for the study of job cuts announced at CBC/Radio-Canada, be adopted.

At 6:40 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
