Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(i) and the motion adopted by the committee on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, the committee resumed its study of the mission, mandate, role, structure and financing of the new capstone research funding organization announced in budget 2024.

Amy Parent and Mona Nemer made statements and answered questions.

At 5:36 p.m., the meeting was suspended.

At 5:43 p.m., the meeting resumed in camera.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(i) and the motions adopted by the committee on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, and Thursday, February 15, 2024, the committee resumed its study of the distribution of federal government funding among Canada's post-secondary institutions.

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: “Distribution of Federal Funding Among Canada’s Post-Secondary Institutions”.

It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and analysts be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request that the Government table a comprehensive response to the report.

It was agreed, — That dissenting or supplementary opinions be in Calibri 12-point font, left aligned, single-spaced, and be submitted electronically, in both official languages, to the clerk of the committee, not later than Wednesday, November 20, 2024.

ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

ORDERED, — That the analysts and the clerk, in consultation with the Chair, prepare a news release for publication on the committee’s website and for distribution upon presentation of the report to the House.

At 5:57 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
