Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(i) and the motion adopted by the committee on Thursday, June 16, 2022, the committee commenced its study of Research and Scientific Publication in French.

Sylvie A. Lamoureux and Jean-Pierre Perreault made statements and, with Anne-José Villeneuve and Laura Pelletier, answered questions.

At 7:35 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 7:41 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(i) and the motion adopted by the committee on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, the committee resumed its study of top talent, research and innovation.

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "Top Talent, Research and Innovation".

It was agreed, — That the Chair, clerk and analysts be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the committee request that the government table a comprehensive response to the report.

It was agreed, — That dissenting or supplementary opinions be in Calibri 12-point font, left aligned, single-spaced, and be submitted electronically, in both official languages, to the clerk of the committee, not later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, October 17, 2022.

ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That the deadline for the submission of briefs in relation to the study of research and scientific publication in French be Monday, October 24, 2022 at 5:00 p.m.

It was agreed, — That the committee’s proposed travel in relation to the study of big science in Canada take place from Sunday, February 19, 2023 to Saturday, February 25, 2023.

It was agreed, — That the next study that the committee undertakes be the study of international moonshot programs.

At 8:18 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
