Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(i) and the motion adopted by the committee on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, the committee resumed its study of science and research in Canada's Arctic in relation to climate change.

The committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "Science and Research in Canada’s Arctic in Relation to Climate Change".

It was agreed, — That the Chair, clerk and analysts be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the committee request that the government table a comprehensive response to the report.

It was agreed, — That dissenting or supplementary opinions be in Calibri 12-point font, left aligned, single-spaced, and be submitted electronically, in both official languages, to the clerk of the committee, not later than 4:00 p. m. (ET) on Friday, November 29, 2024.

ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

ORDERED, — That the clerk and analysts of the committee, in consultation with the Chair, prepare a news release for publication on the committee’s website and for distribution upon presentation of the report to the House.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $32,250, for the study of the impact of the criteria for awarding federal funding on research excellence in Canada, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the committee’s study of antimicrobial resistance, members be invited to submit their preliminary list of proposed witnesses to the clerk no later than Thursday, December 5, 2024.

It was agreed, — That the clerk of the committee reiterate the committee’s invitation to the Minister of Industry to appear before it in relation to the study of the mission, mandate, role, structure and financing of the new capstone research funding organization announced in Budget 2024.

At 4:24 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
