Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(i) and the motions adopted by the committee on Thursday, September 22, 2022, Tuesday, February 14, 2023, and Tuesday, March 28, 2023, the committee resumed its study of support for the commercialization of intellectual property.

The committee commenced consideration of a draft report.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That, notwithstanding the motion adopted by the committee on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, for remaining meetings of the studies of the use of federal government research and development grants, funds, and contributions by Canadian universities and research institutions in partnerships with entities connected to the People’s Republic of China, and the long-term impacts of pay gaps experienced by different genders and equity-seeking groups among faculty at Canadian universities, the committee will not be required split the time for these studies.

At 5:45 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
