The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That the committee meet in an informal meeting, with a delegation from the European Commission on Friday, September 27, 2024¸ and that the clerk, in consultation with the Chair, make arrangements for a working meal to be provided.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(h) and the motion adopted by the committee on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, the committee resumed its study of federal government's use of technological tools capable of extracting personal data from mobile devices and computers.

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "Federal Government’s Use of Technological Tools Capable of Extracting Personal Data From Mobile Devices and Computers".

It was agreed, — That the Chair, clerk and analysts be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the committee request that the government table a comprehensive response to the report.

It was agreed, — That dissenting or supplementary opinions be in Calibri 12-point font, left aligned, single-spaced, and be submitted electronically, in both official languages, to the clerk of the committee, not later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 27, 2024.

ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

ORDERED, — That the clerk and analysts of the committee, in consultation with the Chair, prepare a news release for publication on the committee’s website and for distribution upon presentation of the report to the House.

ORDERED, — That the clerk of the committee make the necessary arrangements for a press conference to be held after the presentation of the committee's report to the House; and that the committee be represented by the Chair and a representative from each party.

At 5:07 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
