Michael Barrett moved, — That, in relation to the committee’s study of foreign interference and threats to the integrity of democratic institutions, intellectual property and the canadian state, the committee:
a) Invite Alexandre Trudeau, Founder and Succession Member of the Trudeau Foundation; and
b) Summons Pascale Fournier and Morris Rosenberg, both former President and CEO of the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation, to appear at a date no later than May 5, 2023.
Debate arose thereon.
René Villemure moved, — That the motion be amended by deleting paragraph a).

After debate, the question was put on the amendment and the result of the vote was announced:
YEAS: Scot Davidson, Jacques Gourde, Matthew Green, Damien C. Kurek, René Villemure — 5;
NAYS: Parm Bains, Greg Fergus, Lisa Hepfner, Annie Koutrakis, Stéphane Lauzon — 5.
Whereupon, the Chair voted in the affirmative.
Accordingly, the amendment was agreed to.
The question was put on the motion and the result of the vote was announced:

NAYS: Parm Bains, Greg Fergus, Lisa Hepfner, Annie Koutrakis, Stéphane Lauzon — 5.
Whereupon, the Chair voted in the affirmative.

The motion, as amended, read as follows:
That, in relation to the committee’s study of foreign interference and threats to the integrity of democratic institutions, intellectual property and the canadian state, the committee summon Pascale Fournier and Morris Rosenberg, both former President and CEO of the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation, to appear at a date no later than May 5, 2023.
ORDERED, — That Pascale Fournier and Morris Rosenberg, both former President and CEO of the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation, be summoned to appear before the committee at a date no later than May 5, 2023.
On motion of René Villemure, it was agreed, — That, in the context of its study of foreign interference, the committee visit the NATO Center of Excellence for Strategic Communication in Riga, Latvia.
Greg Fergus moved, — Given that the former interim Ethics officer has resigned, the committee does not proceed with the study created by the motion adopted on Tuesday, April 18, 2023.

After debate, the question was put on the motion and it was agreed to on the following recorded division:
