Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)h, the committee commenced its study of Subject Matter of Main Estimates 2022-23: Vote 1 under Office of the Commissioner of Lobbying, Vote 1 under Office of the Conflict of Interest and Ethics Commissioner, Vote 1 under Office of the Senate Ethics Officer, Votes 1 and 5 under Offices of the Information and Privacy Commissioners of Canada, referred to the committee on Tuesday, March 1, 2022.

Daniel Therrien made a statement and answered questions.

At 4:28 p.m., Iqra Khalid took the Chair.

At 5:07 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:16 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

Committee Business

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

At 5:18 p.m., Pat Kelly took the Chair.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of the use and impact of facial recognition technology, the proposed budget in the amount of $42,689.38, for the committee’s travel to Denver, Colorado, United States of America for the Summer - Fall 2022 period be adopted; and that the Chair submit the budget to the Subcommittee on Budgets of the Liaison Committee.

At 5:31 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
