Minutes of Proceedings
ORDERED, — That a letter be prepared and sent, on behalf of the Chair and Vice-Chairs, to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind in response of their correspondence dated October 3, 2024, and that an invitation be extended to the organization to appear as part of the study on Canada without barriers by 2040.
Gaetan Royer, Darrell Searles and Paul De Berardis made statements and answered questions.
Scott Aitchison moved, —
That with respect to her recent appointment as President and CEO of the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) on June 14, 2024, the committee hold one meeting for two hours with the following witness from CMHC:
Coleen Volk, President, and CEO of CMHC.Debate arose thereon.
The question was put on the motion and it was agreed to on the following recorded division:

Questioning of the witnesses resumed.
At 12:10 p.m., the meeting was suspended.
At 12:17 p.m., the meeting resumed in camera.
The committee proceeded to give drafting instructions to the analysts for a draft report.
It was agreed, — That the draft news release to invite the public to submit briefs in relation to the study of advancements in home building technologies by no later than Friday, November 1st, 2024, be approved and published to the committee's website.
It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $26,250, for the study of advancements in home building technologies, be adopted.
At 12:58 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
